Austin book event: with Pam Colloff, Texas Monthly author

June 7, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
BookPeople, 603 N. Lamar
Austin,
+ Google Map

Pam Colloff is one of my writing heroes. She's a master longform narrative journalist whose work has gotten a man off death row. I met Pam years ago, and one thing that struck me, and relieved me, was how much she struggled with the writing process. I thought National Magazine Awards fell out of her fingers. She agreed to join me for my paperback launch in Austin, where we'll be talking about insecurity, perfectionism, fear, and all the other FEELINGS that we try to…

Marfa book event: with Tom Michael of Marfa Public Radio

June 20, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:15 pm
Marfa Public Radio,

Oooh, look at this: A live in-studio conversation with crack radio host Tom Michael, the heart of Marfa Public Radio KRTS 93.5. I did an interview with Tom years ago, and he was so smart and calming and generous as a listener that I probably would have told him anything, which is kind of scary. But he's good like that! We'll have guests in-studio and afterward, host a paperback signing.
